About

Originally hailing from Michigan, Carolyn Wilson has lived in Florida most of her adult life.  She spent many years in the corporate world in the fields of Information Technology and Global Telecommunications.  During that time she directed a large multi-national, multi-site research and development organization based in France, living in the South of France and Paris for five years. In 2004, Carolyn left the corporate world and spent the next seven years as a realtor and real estate investor during the market’s big downturn.  The Lord used the difficulties of that period in her life to draw her closer to himself, set her heart on fire for Jesus, and led her onto a different and unexpected career path.

In a confluence of circumstances that only God could have orchestrated, Carolyn was offered an administrative position at Church of the Palms in Sarasota.  Shortly thereafter, God called her into full time ministry.  She continued to serve in a non-ordained position for seven years at Church of the Palms.  After graduating with a Master of Divinity degree from the University of Dubuque Theological Seminary in 2018, God called Carolyn to serve in her current position as Associate Pastor at Venice Presbyterian Church. She is currently working on a Doctor of Ministry degree in “Pastoring for Renewal: Liturgy, Catechesis, and Discipleship.”

Single for many years, Carolyn lives in Sarasota and has two grown children, a daughter in Bradenton and son in Sarasota.  She also has a grandson of whom she is very proud at the University of Central Florida.  In her spare time Carolyn loves reading, walking/hiking, and dabbles in genealogy.
